Wolverhampton Wanderers are not in the market to merely ‘collect players’ according to gaffer Kenny Jackett.

Wolves are only looking for quality players to add to the current squad.

Unfortunately though it’s proving to be a difficult task, with Jackett failing to land his two first choice striking targets.

After missing out on Coventry striker Callum Wilson to Bournemouth, Jackett moved his attentions to Leicester, biding his time to make a move for long-term target Chris Wood.

We had to wait for talks to begin and as soon as they did, they ended, with Chris Wood rejecting the contract offer that we put on the table.

So in the words of the Express & Star, the search goes on.

“We are always trying to improve the team if we can.

“It is very easy to collect players in the Championship, for us to improve our side we need quality players.’ Jackett told the Express & Star.

He continued: “That`s the key for us now going forward, that it is the right people added to what is a good group.

“We have a good side, and things we need to work on and improve on, but it will be interesting how the season develops with these players.”
