Wolves deficit is nothing

It was only 20 days ago that Wolverhampton Wanderers were eyeing up league leaders Bournemouth.

They were just 8 points clear of us at that stage and Wolves were on a run of 5 victories in 6 league games.

But three games later and Wolves are without a win, drawing two and losing one.

The gap to top is now 12 points and we find ourselves now 5 points adrift of the top 6 and considering Watford’s goal difference is 27 better than our own and in fact all of the play-off chasers holding a better goal difference we are in reality 6 points behind.

The target now seems to very much be the play-offs.

“Five points is nothing with 17 games to go but we need to be better than we were on Saturday (against Reading), particularly in the second-half.’ Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett told the Express & Star.

Jackett wants to see that performance put right over the remainder of the week with back-to-back away games at Huddersfield and Norwich.

He continued: “We`d been on a good unbeaten run but I don`t think the last few performances have particularly sparkled and we didn`t sparkle on Saturday.

“We`re capable and looking to perform better than that. We`ve got two games on the road now and want to put things right.”
