Mike Williamson and Joe Mason have both been giving their thought after penning permanent deals with Wolves over the weekend.

Beginning with Williamson who returns from Newcastle United following his loan spell, he told the Official Site that having enjoyed his loan spell with us, when a permanent deal was on the cards it made all the sense in the world.

‘It`s good to be back!’

Declared the centre half after the 32 year old penned his 18 month deal.

‘When I left after the loan spell I spoke to the gaffer and he expressed the desire to make it permanent and I said that the feeling was mutual. I had a fantastic time here and I`m just glad it has been sorted out and I get back to playing. For me it has been about getting fit as I`ve been injured and it can be difficult sorting out details when you are not playing and showing people what you can do. I thoroughly enjoyed playing here and we had some good results. We just maybe needed to build on that and turn a few of the draws into wins. I loved my time here and that is why I am back here now. It was frustrating to be called back and then get an injury but that is how it is – it is the nature of the game. I`m not far off being back now and am looking forward to getting started and a new era.’

As for Mason, he was told his future was at Cardiff only a week ago despite their Financial Fair Play embargo, so the move certainly came around quickly.

In his own interview after joining for a reported £3million on a three and a half year contract, the 24 year old explained.

‘I`m very happy to get the deal done and I can kick on now. I know the gaffer here has been interested in me for quite a long time. After looking around the place and the training ground, it is a massive club and it is an honour for me to be here. It`s massive to know that the gaffer here has been tracking me for some time and as a player it is good to have someone that believes in you. After talking to the gaffer it made me feel this is definitely the right move for me and I am very happy to be here now.’

Mason went on to say that when an ‘opportunity’ like this comes up, you can’t turn it down as a player so now he’s looking forward to kicking on, repaying Kenny Jackett’s faith and hopefully showing everyone what he can do.

‘When an opportunity like this arises you can`t turn it down and I am looking forward to getting settled and showing everyone what I can do. With the size of the club here obviously the main aim is to get promoted. That is what the gaffer has spoken to me about and there is no reason why we can`t do it. This season? Why not. There is still enough games left and last season Wolves had a really good run towards the end and nearly got into the play offs. We will be trying to do that again this time.’
