Quite a busy weekend at the Molineux, two players arrived and one departed.

On Thursday, Wolves confirmed that defender Scott Golbourne has left for Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The 27 year old began his career at Ashton Gate in their youth Academy, and he was out of contract this summer.

Having joined Wolves back in August 2013, he leaves having made 92 appearances in all competitions, with a return of two goals.

Head coach Kenny Jackett told the Official Site about his departure.

‘Scott has been a very good player for us and we thank him for his efforts for the club and wish him well for the future. We are losing one defender and bringing another one in which balances things out, and we are looking forward to Mike being back with us. He made an excellent impact whilst on loan, and brought his considerable experience and leadership to the back four. We will be pleased to secure his services and are looking forward to getting him back here and making another positive impact on the team.’

The decision to let him depart at this stage was part led by knowledge of the impending re-arrival of Newcastle centre half Mike Williamson, and his deal went through on Friday.

Following the 32 year old’s loan spell with us, he signs an 18 month contract with both clubs agreeing an undisclosed fee for his services.

Jackett explained.

‘Mike made an excellent impact whilst here with us on loan, and brought his considerable experience and leadership to the back four. We will be pleased to secure his services and are looking forward to getting him back here and making another positive impact on the team.’

He re-takes the No 5 shirt.

Friday also saw Wolves capture former Cardiff City striker Joe Mason.

The fee is undisclosed but believed to be in the region of £3million for the 24 year old and he has been a long term target of the gaffer.

Having seen him sign a three and a half year deal, Jackett was pleased to finally get his man.

‘We are delighted to be bringing Joe to the club. We`ve looked at him for a while, and particularly back in August, but the deal couldn`t get done. He had a good loan spell at Bolton and he`s a natural number 10, plays best just off a striker I think. Getting the right partnership in that area is a key one for us. And since Afobe and Dicko have gone out of it for different reasons it`s something we`re looking to obviously try to improve. I think he would be one part of that, and he is a very good addition. I like his work rate, I like his football, and I think he`s a natural to play behind the striker in my ideal 4-2-3-1 formation.’

Versatile defender, Barnet’s 17 year old Hakeem Odofin also joined the group on Friday, but penning a two and a half year deal, the youngster has been brought in for Scott Sellars’ Under 21 group and very much a player for the future. We also hold a further 12 month option on him.

Having started to make a name for himself at Barnet because of his potential, he did debut for them in the FA Cup match against Newport County in December, before making his League Two debut in January against Northampton.

Speaking after penning his deal, the youngster said.

‘I`m delighted. It`s been a long time coming. There`s been a lot of talk and there was a lot of speculation. Barnet have been great about it so I was never worried and I knew I was always going to end up coming here. I`m just happy to get it done. The facilities here are unbelievable. I love it. I`m really looking forward to getting started. I know Wolves is a community orientated, family friendly club and that really appeals to me. That`s the kind of person I am, I`m a family orientated person. To see all of the coaches and players be so friendly and be so good to me was great. I know that this was definitely the best move for me.’
