Valuation ‘stretches’ side’s ‘limit’, club ‘unlikely to raise cash’ – Reds won’t sign Wolves man

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Adama Traore and may have to battle Manchester United and Manchester City to procure his signature, but The Sun say the Reds are ‘unlikely to raise enough cash’ as his asking price ‘stretches’ their ‘limit’.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Wolverhampton Wanderers value Traore at £60m, which may scare off a lot of clubs, but that’s not to say he isn’t worth the money. The 24-year-old has contributed 16 goals in 43 games in all competitions this season while creating 38 chances and making 145 successful dribbles (74%) in the Premier League.

Raul Jimenez has been linked with a move away from Wolves this summer, so it would be catastrophic if Traore was allowed to leave too. Nuno Espirito Santo wouldn’t sell two of his best players in the same transfer window, so Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City may be barking up the wrong tree.

Whether Traore is needed by Liverpool (Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah) and City (Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Bernando Silva, Riyad Mahrez) is uncertain too. It also remains to be seen if he’d get into either side, so paying £60m for a player that isn’t guaranteed a starting place wouldn’t be good business.
