I think it’s fair to say that most Wolverhampton Wanderers fans would’ve given Raul Jimenez their Man of the Match following last Saturday’s victory over Bournemouth at the Molineux.

The 27-year-old opened the scoring on the day in the 12th minute to set us on our way to victory and a stoppage-time effort from Ivan Cavaleiro ensure our form continued to head in the right direction after recent struggles.

Jimenez will certainly take the headlines as he made it five goals for the campaign (all have come on home soil) but statistics website Whoscored gave their star man rating to Conor Coady for his efforts at the back.

Picking up a score of 7.58 from the game, he pushed Jimenez into second place who received 7.47 for his efforts.

The top five on the day were completed by Matt Doherty, Ruben Neves and Helder Costa.

Up to seventh in the Premier League table and three wins on the spin.

  • As a regular atttender at Molineux I can state each and every game Conor Coady puts in a excellent performance. He is inspirational not only as Captain but is also very verbal. Raul Jimenez was superb on Saturday I can recall him helping the defence turning up at right back when Bournemouth were in Wolves half. His hold up play and then finding a Wolves player is a very strong point. I sincerely hope we sign him at the end of the season.
Regarding the other five Doherty was excellent , followed by Neves who is finding Premier League harder than the Championship.
I frowned seeing Helder Costa in the five because he has not performed anywhere near his standard this season and I believe Ivan Cavaleiro is a better player at the moment.
