Report: Wolves may have to pay £6m and £1.04m in wages to sign 28-year-old

According to Sky Sports News, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing Nelson Oliveira. The 28-year-old has been in fine form for AEK Athens, scoring and creating 16 goals in 20 games this season, but he could be returning to England just six months after he left.

Oliveira spent three years at Norwich City before his move to AEK last summer, but Wolves want to bring him back as they need depth in attack. The Midlands outfit are short on cover for Raul Jimenez after loaning out Patrick Cutrone to Fiorentina, but Oliveira could be a brilliant addition.

His impressive scoring record in Greece suggests he may provide healthy competition for places too. The Portuguese international has a £6m release clause and is believed to earn £20k-per-week/£1.04m-a-year in wages, so he’s more than affordable for Wolves.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been forced to overplay Jimenez due to a lack of cover in the squad. The 28-year-old has been outstanding this season, scoring 19 goals in 36 games across the board, but he’s frequently playing a full 90 minutes and would benefit from another player easing the scoring burden.
