It’s been talked about for weeks now – and it’s finally happened. Patrick Cutrone has departed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
After plenty of speculation, it has been confirmed that Cutrone is now a Fiorentina player.
The club have taken the Italian on an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy him permanently.
While there has been no confirmation of how much he will cost if they do choose to sign him permanently, the Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has said he’s ‘told’ that they will have to make the deal permanent if he makes a certain amount of appearances, which would, in turn, see the club recuperate the £16m they spent on him.
Who would you want out of the linked forwards?
Matheus Cunha
Hwang Hee-chan
Leonardo Campana
Someone else...
The journalist also tweeted later that there was a big problem with the language barrier for the 22-year-old, with there only being a few Italian speakers at the club.
Many Wolves fans were disappointed to hear about the news, with many taking to the forward after some passionate displays.
One fan said they were “gutted it didn’t work out”, while a couple more had mentioned the fact they had a shirt with his name on the back.
Here are some of the responses below…

With this news now being announced, there is no doubt that a replacement forward will need to be sourced.
Raul Jimenez is the only natural centre forward within the current first-team squad, so you’d imagine with the club being in the Europa League and fighting it out in the Premier League, they will want to find a backup.
