Report: Wolves ‘love’ £15m-rated attacking-midfielder, selling club want ‘buyback option’

According to Onda Cero, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Oscar Rodriguez and may have to battle Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Getafe and Schalke 04 for his signature. Onda Cero say Wolves ‘love’ the 22-year-old and could have success bringing him to Molineux as he doesn’t have a future at Real Madrid.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Oscar rose through the youth ranks to the Real first-team in 2017/18 and has gone on to make one appearance in all competitions. The attacking-midfielder has been an unused substitute four times too but hasn’t made the matchday squad since 2018. Oscar has spent the last two years on loan at CD Leganes (scoring 13 goals and making six assists in 63 games) and will return to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Onda Cero say Real want to offload the Spanish U21 international and are willing to accept £15m-£20m, but clubs would have to agree a ‘buyback option’ to complete a deal. Despite Oscar playing just once for Real, Los Blancos want to ensure they have first dibs should he develop into a better player worth of re-signing. Wolves are being linked but that doesn’t guarantee that they’ll make a move.
