Wolves are set to complete a loan deal with the option to buy for Porto midfielder Vitor Ferreira, a report from Sky Sports has claimed.

The Midlands club kicked their summer spending off over the weekend with the club-record signing of 18-year-old attacker Fabio Silva from Porto, and after securing the services of defender Fernando Marcal from Lyon, it now looks as though Silva could soon have a familiar face alongside him at Molineux.

According to the latest reports, Ferreira has agreed a season-long loan move to Wolves, which includes the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, and it is thought it could cost around €20million to do that.

A graduate of Porto’s academy, Ferreira has made just 12 appearances in all competitions for the club’s senior side, all of which came last season, and were enough to earn him League and Cup winners medals in Portugal.

It is now thought that the midfielder will complete his move to Molineux once he has finished his international duty with Portugal’s Under 21s side later this week.

After what was a slow start to the summer transfer window, it is good to see that Wolves are starting to make their move in the market.

Admittedly, Ferreira and Silva are two young players about whom you have to wonder how much of an immediate impact they can make, although it is clear they have plenty of potential, meaning it may be a smart piece of business to secure their services at a young age.

Indeed, the fact they have been given opportunities by Porto last season shows they are ready to play at a high level of football, and they could reliable options to provide some much-needed squad depth over the coming campaign.
