Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a surprise raid on The Hawthorns this week, and it’s been suggested that West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon would be our target.

The Venezuelan international striker moved to West Brom back in August 2015 and he’s notched up 102 starting appearances for them, with 18 further showings from the substitutes bench – returning 28 goals in total.

Last summer, following their relegation from the Premier League, he made the loan switch to Newcastle United and has impressed, scoring 12 times in 30 starts and three substitute showings.

There is some debate about the future of the 29-year-old at the club though as Rafa Benitez’s future is in doubt as well, and then question marks over whether or not Mike Ashley would sanction the claimed £16.5million it would take to enact his release fee.

The Daily Mail have claimed recently that we have now joined the race for the target man as we look to improve the group and provide competition and an alternative option at the top of the pitch.

We’ll have to see if anything comes of this but it would be a strange one for me.
