According to Nacion Deportes and Medio Tiempo via Sport Witness, Wolverhampton Wanderers could lose Raul Jimenez now Manchester City’s two-year ban from European competition has been overturned. The Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision now means 5th place in the Premier League won’t secure Champions League football next season, so Wolves’ chances of sealing their place in the competition has taken a big hit.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Old Gold are currently 6th in the table with 55 points from 35 games, four adrift of fourth-placed Leicester City and fifth-placed Manchester United. Wolves’ remaining games are against Burnley (July 15), Crystal Palace (July 20) and Chelsea (July 26), meaning they could pick up six points from a possible nine.

The problem is Leicester and United picking up results during this period, as another win for both clubs all but kills Wolves’ chances of a top-four finish. Nacion Deportes and Medio Tiempo believe Jimenez will consider his future at Molineux if that happens, but it’s hard to see Nuno letting him go.

The 29-year-old has a market value of £36m but is worth three times that to Wolves. He’s also scored 42 goals and made 18 assists in 94 games since moving from Benfica. Reports suggesting Wolves’ failure to seal Champions League football could see Jimenez leave may be wide of the mark.

Don’t these media jackasses read local press, Jiminez has stated it won’t need CL football for him to stay at the club, he said himself he is very happy at the club and is enjoying the project that he signed up to with his contract not up until 2023, add to this his valuation of £100m plus and the fact we don’t have to sell.
We are building a squad to challenge the media favourites and boy don’t you lot hate it hence you trying to sell all our best players on.
