According to Corriere Dello Sport via Calciomercato, Lazio are ‘ready to fish’ for Jonny Otto. The Serie A side are looking to strengthen their backline ahead of the new season and have their ‘eyes on’ the 26-year-old.

Whether Wolverhampton Wanderers would let Jonny leave remains to be seen, however, as he’s been in fine form under Nuno Espirito Santo and is a key player.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Spanish international initially joined Wolves on loan in 2018 and turned the move permanent in 2019. He’s made a total of 77 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and making four assists.

Jonny has been a regular under Nuno, keeping Ruben Vinagre on the bench in the Premier League, so he’s too important to be let go. Lazio may be hoping their impressive domestic campaign may lure players to the Stadio Olimpico, as they currently sit second in the Serie A, just one point adrift of Juventus, but it remains to be seen if that plan will work.

Jonny still has three years remaining on his deal at Molineux, so the Midlands outfit aren’t under any obligation to cash in. The 26-year-old hasn’t made any public desire to leave Wolves either, so it’s hard to see Lazio succeeding in procuring his signature.

I Biancocelesti have a working relationship with Jorge Mendes after he brokered a deal for Pedro Neto and Bruno Jordao to join Wolves, but Lazio’s bold attempt to sign Diogo Jota and Jonny may result in failure.
