Prediction: Wolves midfielder could feature against Espanyol

Bruno Jordao could feature for Wolverhampton Wanderers in Thursday’s Europa League last-32 clash with Espanyol after building up his match fitness in the u23s and returning to the first-team matchday squad in recent weeks. He’s in Nuno Espirito Santo’s Europa League squad but may not be ready to start.

The 21-year-old has recovered from an ankle ligament injury that kept him out for a number of months. He suffered the initial problem in Wolves’ EFL Cup win over Reading (September 25) and endured a setback in his rehabilitation weeks later. Jordao’s last appearance came in an EFL Cup defeat to Aston Villa (October 30).

He was an unused substitute in Wolves’ 3-2 win over Southampton (January 18), represented the u23s in the PL International Cup draw with Liverpool (January 29) and was an unused substitute in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United (February 1).

In Wolves’ last Europa League clash – 4-0 win over Besiktas (December 12, 2019) – Max Kilman & Oskar Burr featured while Owen Otasowie & Taylor Perry came off the bench. Andreas Söndergaard, Lewis Richards and Luke Cundle also made the matchday squad, so Jordao should feature if fit.
