With a number of Wolverhampton Wanderers players away on international duty in September’s international break, there is potentially bad news for summer signing and striker Raul Jimenez.

The 27-year-old Mexican international has been with his country the last week and a bit following his call-up but it’s been reported by Mexican outlet Dale Mexico that the on-loan Benfica attacker has now withdrawn from their squad ahead of the game against the United States of America on Wednesday having picked up a small injury issue.

It’s said the issue is a ‘small muscular discomfort’ so it doesn’t sound too serious, but Mexico have taken the sensible option in allowing him to return to Wolves for a proper assessment according to the report, as that should ensure it doesn’t turn into a more problematic issue and only increases his chances of being available for Nuno Espirito Santo this weekend when we face Burnley in the Premier League.

Fingers crossed it is only a precautionary decision though.
