Opinion: Wolves won’t lose 23-year-old next summer despite reports

|

Adama Traore has been in fantastic form for Wolverhampton Wanderers and is expected to be linked with a host of clubs in January. Despite Nuno Espirito Santo making it clear that the 23-year-old will not be sold for any price, the rumour mill is already in force.

According to Darren Plant of Sports Mole, Real Madrid are interested in Adama Traore and could make a move for the Spaniard next summer. The wide-man has contributed 12 goals in 29 appearances for Wolves this season, scoring and creating a goal in four of his last nine outings.

Traore is putting in elite performances this season, making 24 chances and 95 successful dribbles in 19 league games, but it’s unlikely Real will make a move. Los Blancos have Gareth Bale, Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez and James Rodriguez who can play in Traore’s position, so why would they add more competition?

Wolves paid £18m to sign the 23-year-old from Middlesbrough in 2018, but Kenny Hibbitt believes he’d be worth in excess of £60m now. It’s hard to see any club meeting that type of valuation in January or next summer, so supporters shouldn’t be in fear of losing Traore.
