Opinion: Striker could join Wolves first-team after Europa League squad selection

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers submitted their Europa League squad after the January transfer window and included a number of new acquisitions. Nuno Espirito Santo has also named an existing player who spent the first half of the season out on loan – Renat Dadashov.

The 20-year-old failed to impress during his temporary stint at FC Paços de Ferreira (August 7, 2019 – December 31, 2019), scoring just one goal in nine appearances, but he’s netted for the u23s and has fans demanding his promotion to the first-team.

Nuno may be considering a call-up after adding him to the Europa League squad, but it remains to be seen if Dadashov will feature domestically. With Raul Jimenez and Leonardo Campana ahead of the 20-year-old in the pecking order, playing time might be sporadic.

His record at youth level has been outstanding at Germany (13 goals in 15 games for the u17s), RasenBallsport Leipzig (12 goals in 29 games for the u19s) and Eintracht Frankfurt (14 goals in 22 games for the u19s), but whether he can deliver at senior level remains to be seen.
