Explained: Which player has returned to Wolves after a failed loan spell?

|

Renat Dadashov has returned to Wolverhampton Wanderers after a failed stint at Pacos Ferreira. The 20-year-old joined the Portuguese outfit on a season-long loan in August, but he struggled for form and playing time in the last four months and may be loaned out to a different club in January.

According to Mais Futebol, P. Ferreira also cancelled the deal of Yago Cesar (Atletico Paranaense), as the 22-year-old featured just five times in all competitions this season while racking up 110 minutes of playing time.

Dadashov joined Wolves from Estoril over the summer and was immediately loaned back to Portugal to boost his development. The Azerbaijan international failed to score in 292 minutes of football at P. Ferreira, however, so it’s not a surprise his stay at the Estádio da Mata Real was cut short.

With Raul Jimenez, Patrick Cutrone, Diogo Jota and Pedro Neto ahead of him in the pecking order under Nuno, Dadashov has little chance of becoming a regular at Wolves. He needs to join a club willing to give him first-team opportunities, so another loan move may beckon in the coming weeks.
