Adama Traore may be on Spain’s radar when the season resumes after Luis Enrique showered the 24-year-old in praise. The national team manager had a Q&A with Marca and spoke about Traore’s evolution since his Barcelona days.

He revealed how much the Wolves winger has evolved since his Barcelona days and admitted keeping a close eye on performances, so could a call-up to Spain’s national team follow?

Enrique said: “We have known him very well for many years. When we were at Barcelona, he was in our plans. He has evolved a lot. He’s a very interesting player. We are delighted with his performances.”

As per BBC Sport, Traore was born in Spain to Malian parents and is eligible to play for both countries. The 24-year-old nearly played for Spain in November 2019 but had to pull out of the squad due to injury. In January 2020, Traore admitted he was still uncertain whether to represent Spain on Mali.

He’s made 43 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring six goals and making 10 assists. As per WhoScored, Traore has amassed 2073 minutes of Premier League football, making 38 chances and completing 73.6% of his 568 passes.

The 24-year-old has won 34 aerial duels (44%), made 145 successful dribbles (74%), whipped in 144 crosses with 21.5% accuracy, blocked 16 shots/passes/crosses, made 12 clearances, won 63 free-kicks, had 34 shots with 26% accuracy and averaged a tackle (32) or interception (12) every 47 minutes.

He’s arguably the best winger in the Premier League and has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur among others, so Traore could have a bright future at club and country level.
