Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed on Tuesday that Ed Francis has joined Grasshopper Club Zurich on loan until the end of the campaign – the 25th player to leave on loan in 2019/20. The England u19 international joined Wolves from Manchester City in January 2019. He has just shy of 18 months remaining on his contract in the Midlands and will hope to impress in Switzerland to impress any watching scouts from Wolves.

Nuno Espirito Santo needs another central defender in the first-team, after cancelling Jesus Vallejo’s loan while sending out Ryan Bennett to Leicester for the rest of the season – Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss have been forced to play in a makeshift defensive role.

Wolves wished Francis luck in his four-month stay at the Stadion Letzigrund.
