Official: Wolves confirm 26th loan departure of the season

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed on Tuesday that Hong Wan has joined NK Varazdin on loan for the rest of 2019/20 – the 26th player to leave on loan this season. The 19-year-old joined Wolves from Yeovil last summer and has been developing in the u23s.

Wan has made the reserves’ matchday squad on a regular basis in recent weeks but has not had many minutes on the pitch. The midfielder started in Wolves’ Birmingham Senior Cup win over Tividale (January 15) and was an unused substitute in their Premier League International Cup defeat to Liverpool (January 29).

This month, Wan was an unused substitute Wolves’ 1-0 defeat to Southampton (February 4) and 2-2 draw with Birmingham City (February 6) but started in their Birmingham Senior Cup win over Leamington FC (February 13).

Whether he’ll get more minutes at NK Varazdin remains to be seen, however, as Matija Kolaric, Jessie Guera Djou, Tonio Teklic, Neven Djurasek, Ivan Roca and Ivan Posavec stand in his way. Varazdin sit bottom of the Prva HNL table with 15 points from 22 games this season and next face NK Lokomotiva on Friday.
