“No thanks”, “Absolutely not” – A lot of fans are against Wolves signing 32 y/o to replace 29 y/o
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been recently linked with a move for Gonzalo Higuain, as Raul Jimenez is tipped to exit Molineux this summer.
Vital Wolves have explained why signing Higuain wouldn’t be a good decision and why letting Jimenez go would be catastrophic, so it’s not surprising that supporters from We are Wolves are also against this deal.

Higuain has made 139 appearances in all competitions since joining Juventus from Real Madrid in 2016, scoring 63 goals and making 16 assists. He’s been short of form this season, rippling the back of the net only five times in 23 Serie A games, so could he really replicate Jimenez’ goal output (44 games, 22 goals and 10 assists in 2019/20) next season?
The Argentine international’s reputation took a hit after spending six months at Chelsea (January 23, 2019 – June 30, 2019) where scored five goals in 18 games. He may struggle returning to the Premier League now he’s older.
Wolves need a top striker to replace Jimenez if he moves on in the coming months, but Higuain won’t be cheap to acquire. He has a market value of £22.95m and is earning £5m-a-year/£96k-per-week at Juve, so are Wolves really going to shell out so much money for an under-performing player?
