Lee Evans has signed a new contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 20-year-old midfielder has enjoyed an impressive rise through the ranks of English football.

Evans joined Wolves from Newport County, then of the Conference in January 2013.

He made 28 appearances as Wolves stormed the third tier of English football and has enjoyed a good start to the Championship.

He’s also been involved in the Wales Under-21 squad, recently scoring for his country.

The new deal is a three-year-deal, so just one further year onto his original contact, but no doubt under better terms for the players.

It also includes a further year’s option in Wolves favour.

“I`m delighted to have signed the new deal,”

“We`ve been talking about it for a while and I see it as the next stepping stone in my career.’ Evans told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: “I know sometimes people think that players get a new contract and start to relax – that`s not what I am going to be doing.

“I want to kick on now, keep improving and trying to keep my place in the team.

“I`ve enjoyed the start we`ve made to the season.
