Few Wolverhampton Wanderers fans knew what to expect from Pedro Neto when they club brought him in from Italian side Lazio during the last summer transfer window.

We reportedly paid £16million for his services, which was certainly an investment in the young 19-year-old Portuguese striker and was a hell of a show of faith and although he’s only made one starting appearance for us in the Europa League so far, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo believes in him and he’s made two more European substitute showings, along with three Premier League substitute showings.

He also opened his club account by finding the back of the net in our 4-0 victory over Pyunik in August.

Former Managing Director and club legend, John Richards, was full of praise for the youngster as he spoke to the Express & Star recently.

“The fact he has come into a team with a lot of fellow Portuguese players has helped him out. I think they’ll make him so relaxed and at home, so he’ll settle in quickly. He has been impressive already, and although he won’t be starting every week straight away, he’s got the makings of a very good Premier League player.”

Given the brief bits we’ve seen from the lad so far, there’s every reason to be positive about his future curve in the game given all the development and improvements he can make.
