Loan Rangers

We’ve had some decent loans for us this season, in and out. With youngsters going out to the lower leagues, amd competing well it gives us great promise.

oing out on loan

——————————————

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing: Grew as the season went on, used as a good impact player and chipping in with vital goals and assists. Played right wing and up front. He’s still very young, and he gives me great hope. 8/10

Danny Batth: Went to Sheffield United and played a grand total of one game (I think) but at their near rivals Sheffield Wednesday he got game time and impressed. He got rave reviews and they are desperate to have him back next season. 7.5/10

Scott Malone: Went to a lower league this year, but did well. Score a couple of goals, set up goals and the Burton fans took to him. Had some injury problems. 7/10

Sam Winnall: Played in the league cup this year, did well and then went on loan to Burton for a while. His goalscoring record was impressive there, notching 8 goals. I’m keen to see more of him, perhaps another loan spell at a higher level.

Ashley Hemmings: Started off well at Torquay, they liked him and extended his loan spell for the whole season. Then he gave away a penalty in the last minute of a game and lost his place, so they ended the loan. 6/10

Jamie Reckord: Almost went to Swansea on loan I heard, but ended up at Northampton. Did okay, didn’t play as much as would’ve liked. Is highly thought of by Wolves, could he be the answer at left back? 6.5/10

Johnny Dunleavy: What a disastrous loan spell. Barnet signed him on loan, barely played at all and has now been released by Wolves. 4/10

David Davis: Played at Walsall and Shrewsbury and was praised in both. Came close to his first team debut this season after an injury crisis, could get a game in the cup if he does well in pre-season. 7.5/10

Sam Vokes: Injured on the opening day of the season and endured a torried time at Brstol. Had a spell at Sheffield United that did not last long but had a good short time with Norwich. In fact, many of the Norwich fans want to sign him for the Premier League. 6/10

Andy Keogh: At the start of the season his asking price was £2.5m, we will be lucky to get 500k for him now. Barely played at Cardiff, then got injured at Bristol City. 3/10

Stefan Maierhofer: Had a good time with Duisburg and his goalscoring record there was excellent. Unfortunately they can’t afford to sign him, would we be better off just paying him off? 7/10

Greg Halford: Went to Pompey, and played most of the season at centre back. Hopefully someone will take him off our hands.

Loan in

——————————————

Michael Mancienne: Probably his worst loan in his three years with us. Injured a lot, didn’t play very well in centre midfield but did come good (despite some blunders) at the end of the season. Having a medical with Hamburg, good luck to him. 6/10

Marcus Bent: A hugely popular signing. Just kidding, came as back up and barely played. Seemed like a nice guy for the dressing room. 5/10

Jamie O’Hara: Played a massive role in our survival. This is the quality we are looking to move forward too, and we need to snap him up quick. 8.5/10

I hope I haven’t missed anyone, if I have give your own views. If you have any comments about my ratings, get debating!
