Michael Mancienne will not be returning to Molineux.
The 23-year-old who has spent three loans spells and the best part of two-and-a-half years with Wolves on loan from Chelsea has been sold to German side Hamburg.
Mancienne made 60 appearances in total for Wolves and will join up with his new team-mates in Germany after England’s European Under-21 Championship campaign.
‘Hamburg are a big club with a lot of tradition and some fantastic fans,’ Mancienne said to the BBC.
‘It’s a big challenge for me to be able to play for this club. It would be great if I could play a part in helping Hamburg get back into Europe.’
Vital Wolves Comment: His impact this season wasn’t as great as previous years, but with the transfer thought to be around £1.75million it’s a shame we couldn’t have signed him permanently.
But perhaps we could have done? Surely we would have been first option for Mancienne, so perhaps Mick McCarthy decided against a move?
