Wolverhampton Wanderers have an injury doubt ahead of Wednesday evening’s meeting with Burnley, as Pedro Neto is carrying a knock. Nuno Espirito Santo said that Wolves will “have to assess” the 20-year-old before making a final decision on his selection, but he has been recovering well since Sunday’s meeting with Everton so there’s a chance he could feature.

As per the Express and Star: Nuno said: “He’s one of the issues we have to assess. It’s a fresh one. The other one was a direct impact on his quadriceps. This was one was cramp, strong cramp, so he was not able to continue. He is recovering. He trained today with the fitness coach, so let’s see how he is tomorrow. These are things we have to assess calmly and properly.”

Neto has made 40 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals with five assists. He’s started only eight Premier League games in 2019/20 but impressed in his most recent outing before being replaced in the second half due to injury.

Nuno has Diogo Jota, Adama Traore and Daniel Podence at his disposal ahead of the trip to Turf Moor, but he may want to reward the £10.35m-rated wide-man for his performance with another start. Neto has frequently come off the bench in 2020, but he impressed when called upon and deserves to keep his place.

Nuno saying that the Portuguese U21 international has been training is a good sign, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be risked.
