Wolverhampton Wanderers thrashed Everton 3-0 on Sunday to end their two-game winless run in the Premier League and Diogo Jota was one of many players hailed by supporters for his performance. The 23-year-old impressed in attack and ended his goal duck with a brilliantly-taken volley on the counter-attack.
Jota played a great second half

Watching #WOLEVE just reaffirms how well Arsenal played a few weeks back to get three points. They’re a really good side with real quality – that pass from Neves was unreal, and always thought Jota looked class. Not to mention Adama and Jimenez!

Against Everton, Jota played for 35 minutes, had 17 touches, completed 100% of his 13 passes, created one chance, had two shots which were both on target and one of which hit the back of the net, made one clearance, won one free-kick and made two dribbles.
The Portuguese international joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid for £12.6m in 2018 and has gone on to make 126 appearances in all competitions, scoring 44 goals with 19 assists. Jota has made 43 appearances this season, scoring 16 goals and making six assists, but he’d been short of form in 2020.
Jota’s market value has risen to £25.2m in his two years at Molineux, but his place may be up for grabs if he can’t maintain some consistency – Adama Traore, Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence are providing stiff competition in attack and all impressed against Everton.
Prior to Sunday’s meeting, the Portuguese wide-man had gone six games without a goal or assist, so fans and Nuno Espirito Santo will be glad to see him finally scoring.
