Steve Fletcher is a major doubt for Scotland’s game against Liechtenstein on Tuesdsay.

He will be assessed by the Hampden medical team to determine his fitness.

Let’s hope he gets some game time, as it seems to have done the trick with Kevin doyle who was probably Ireland’s best player on Friday.

I was shocked to see that Berra was not in the Scotland team. In his place, was a forty year old playing in the Scottish Premier League. No offence to David Weir, who has had a good career but surely it is better to let the other younger players get experience at international level?

Even if Scotland were to qualify, Weir is very unlikely to even be playing at club level in two years time.

Wayne Hennessey and Dave Edwards played in Wales’ defeat to Montenegro. Wayne was at fault for the game, but other than that played well.

Adlene Guedioura scored a superb strike for Algeria. A rocket from twenty five yards, that will have done him no harm to his chances of establishing himself in that team.
