Wolverhampton Wanderers have this afternoon confirmed that midfielder Lee Evans has now made the permanent switch out to Sheffield United.

The 23 year old spent the first half of this season out on loan with Wigan Athletic, but he saw that spell end following a recall and he now makes the switch to Bramall Lane on a three and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Having joined from Newport County back in January 2013, he made 67 competitive appearances for the club across his five years with us, scoring three times and he obviously played his part in our promotion from League 1 in the 2013/14 season and the following year as we narrowly missed out on the Play Offs.

Speaking ahead of the move being finalised, he told the Official Website.

‘I would like to thank Wolves for giving the opportunity to play at such a big club and thank the supporters who were good to me during my time there. I have thoroughly enjoyed my five years with Wolves and I hope the club continues to enjoy the success it has so far this season.’
