Enough depth at RB and RW, other areas need strengthening – Why Wolves could avoid 27 y/o

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move with Jesus Corona and may have to battle Chelsea and Everton for his signature. The 27-year-old is coming off the back of an outstanding season at FC Porto and has been tipped to leave this summer, but it remains to be seen whether Wolves will make a move.

Nuno Espirito Santo already has depth at right-back and on the wing, so Jesus wouldn’t be a priority signing. The Black and Gold have a more fervent need to strengthen at centre-back, centre-midfield and at centre-forward, rather than out wide.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Jesus has made 213 appearances in all competitions since joining Porto in 2015, scoring 28 goals and making 51 assists. The Mexican international has made 43 appearances across the board this season, having a hand in 21 goals.

He’d bring a real attacking threat to Wolves’ right-hand side, but Nuno already has Matt Doherty, Oskar Buur and Luke Matheson at his disposal and may not need another addition.

Further up the pitch, the Wolves boss has Adama Traore, Diogo Jota, Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence who can operate on the right flank. Unless an existing player was to leave, it would make little sense bringing in Jesus.
