Kevin Doyle is yet to complete his expected move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Colorado Rapids.

Last week Doyle returned to Wolves training ground at Compton where he was contemplating a move to Major League Soccer.

The 31-year-old Republic Of Ireland striker’s contract with Wolves expires at the end of the season, but with the forward earning in the region of £40,000-a-week he is unlikely to be in a hurry to write off around £600,000 earnings.

Colorado Rapids have offered him a three-year-deal following talks with Doyle and with the MLS transfer window remaining open until May, there’s no rush on their end to complete a deal.

Instead it probably all boils down to Doyle and Wolves agreeing a compensation deal to cancel his contract so that he could sign as a free transfer.

The MLS team have refused to speak publicly about Doyle but confirmed their interest in signing a forward.

“Doyle`s contracted with another club, so we can`t technically comment on players that are contracted with other clubs. I can say that we are actively searching for a striker with experience.” Colorado Rapids vice president of soccer operations Paul Bravo told the Denver Post.
