Kevin Doyle’s proposed move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Colorado Rapids is still ongoing.

However Kevin Doyle will remain an option for Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett until the time comes for him to leave.

The 31-year-old Republic Of Ireland striker’s contract with Wolves expires at the end of the season, but with the forward earning in the region of £40,000-a-week he is unlikely to be in a hurry to write off around £600,000 earnings.

Colorado Rapids have offered him a three-year-deal following talks with Doyle and with the MLS transfer window remaining open until May, there’s no rush on their end to complete a deal.

Proving that there is also no rush on our side Doyle made a surprise appearance for Wolves against Rotherham on Saturday.

His sub appearance was the first time we’ve seen him in a Wolves shirt for over a year and according to Jackett it may well not be the last.

“I think we will see more of Kevin Doyle. Looking at the set-up of the forwards we have, Kevin is the right person at the moment to complement our young strikers.’ Jackett told the Express & Star.

He continued: “In many of the games, at different times, we are going to have to go for it and go for wins, even if it opens us up.

“Looking at the situation with Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday there is the opportunity of more game time for Kevin.
