Championship Free Agent Could Be An Interesting Option For Wolves Next Summer

|

With the 2018/19 Premier League campaign almost at an end, there’s been plenty for Wolverhampton Wanderers to celebrate in our first year back in the top flight, but with the summer approaching thoughts will quickly turn to summer strengthening and according to reports, Yoann Barbet could be an option.

The 25-year-old Frenchman is an interesting prospect and he ticks many of the boxes that you could see head coach Nuno Espirito Santo asking for in our summer dealings. For Brentford this year, his versatility has seen him feature 37 times so far both at centre-half but also at left back and he’s pretty comfortable on the ball and he is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

French outlet L’Equipe have linked Wolves, Leeds United and Norwich City as having a possible interest in him come the summer and irrespective of their own promotion campaigns in the Championship this season, you’d think we’d clearly be the better position if we wanted him given the year we’ve had.

Maybe a name to keep an eye on though, even if it would be a little left field given our transfer action over the last few years.
