It’s transfer deadline day and it’s likely to be a quiet one for Wolves. But Mr transfer deadline day QPR boss Harry Redknapp is sniffing around.

The Queens Park Rangers manager has confirmed his interest in Bakary Sako and it’s widely known that the Mali international wants a shot at the Premier League.

French newspaper L`Équipe broke the news of QPR’s interest and Redknapp himself confirmed that he had made an enquiry before the weekend.

Sako is still out of the country after Mali were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations, but is due back soon.

Whilst L`Équipe’s report that Sako had already agreed personal terms with QPR appears a bit premature, there is still time for this deal to be completed.

But who will blink first? Wolves have always stated that any interest from a Premier League side would be passed on to Sako, but have also said that any bidding club would have to meet our evaluation and have said that whilst a push for promotion to the Premier League is on we would be happy to keep hold of him and lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

“I don`t think anyone will come in for Sako. I think Sako will be with us now.

“I spoke to him on Saturday morning and he was still in Mali so there`s a bit to do.’ Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett told the Birmingham Mail.

However he also confessed that if something was to happen he wouldn’t be the first to know.

“Myself personally, I think they`ll cut me out and go above me.” he said.
