A case for the defence

Going into this game Wolverhampton Wanderers had won four games on the spin, Cardiff had one win in five.

But the form book was thrown out of the window and Wolves relapsed into the frustrating side that we have become this season.

Cardiff were two goals to the good after 35 minutes when Craig Noone scored two excellent strikes.

The goalscoring form of Michal Zyro continued when he got one back, but Wolves only mustered one additional strike on target throughout the 90 minutes.

Joe Ralls restored Cardiff’s two goal advantage in the second half and that was that.

‘We have defended a lot better than that and I am disappointed with the goals.’ Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett told the BBC.

He continued: ‘While there was a good attitude and spirit about us to be competitive, you need to keep the goals against column down.

‘We needed to stay in that game – that is the period of the season that it is. We didn’t do that or recognise some very good strengths that Cardiff have.’

Wolves might sit 10th in the Championship, but our home form is hurting us.

We have the fifth worst home record in the division, with just 4 wins from 14 at Molineux.
