Update provided on Wolves man who’s tested positive for coronavirus – report

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Patrick Cutrone has provided an update on how he is doing after testing positive with coronavirus.

The Italian striker, currently on an 18-month loan spell at Fiorentina, tested positive for the virus last week, along with his wife, according to reports from the Birmingham Mail.

Nevertheless, the player remains in good spirits, and he is allegedly “better” according to his agent.

Giovanni Branchini said to FirenzeViola.it: “Patrick is better, he is at ease at home and will spend the necessary days to combat the virus.

“Thank God both he and his girlfriend are much better.

“They have never been really bad but have had a fever and are now getting better. We are heading towards a happy solution entirely.”

With Italy being the worst country affected by the virus outside of China, there have been many people from all walks of life who have tested as positive; footballers are not immune.

Even though the player is perhaps unlikely to return to Wolverhampton in the near future due to Fiorentina having a loan deal with an obligation to buy, fans were still a huge fan of the player and will be encouraged to hear that he is on the mend.

The 22-year-old has one Italy cap and managed to score three times and assist four in 24 games for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Since moving to Fiorentina, he has found it difficult to find the net but has at least been seeing a bit more football. Since moving back to Serie A this season he has featured seven times, providing just the one assist without managing to find the net.

He is not the only player within the ranks at Fiorentina to be diagnosed. Defender German Pezzella also tested positive for Covid-19, as did Dusan Vlahovic.
