Having missed the whole of last season, barely featuring for Wolves at all since his arrival from Legia Warsaw, Michal Zyro has made his return during pre-season.

Featuring in both friendlies so far, including Saturday’s victory over Viktoria Plzen, which came after win over Werder Bremen, Zyro is looking to make up for lost time – he hopes with Wolves enjoying a successful season too.

After a promising enough start at Molineux Zyro suffered a knee injury that kept the forward out of the whole of last season but the Polish international is now back and has told the Official Website he’s feeling good.

‘It feels great to be back playing and it has been a long time to be fair. It`s now pre-season which is preparing us for the new season, I hope that everyone will be ready for the new challenge.’

He’s hopeful the ‘next few weeks, few months and through ’til the end of the season’ can go fine, he’ll also be involved under Nuno Espirito Santo too, as Wolves then ‘get promoted.’

Months of gym work were needed but it didn’t make it any less frustrating for Zyro, 24, who is up for the fight he faces for a first team place as he looks for regular involvement.

‘I had to spend lot of time in the gym, I had to only watch the lads playing football outside – it was really frustrating for me. But now I am on the pitch, I give 100% during every session and I will keep going to fight for my place in the team.’

Zyro went on to talk about how tough pre-season has been but how this will help the whole of the Wolves squad ahead of the upcoming campaign with this hard work making him ‘feel alive.’

‘The first game for me was hard work because it was my first game back. The second game, I was a little bit tired and the game is all about preparing us for the next stage when we come back to England and when the team will develop more. I feel comfortable, I feel very good and I am looking forward. To be fair I have missed hard running, football and being tired – I really enjoy it and it makes me feel alive and I am really happy.’

He gained a 45 minute second half outing against Viktoria Plzen at the weekend as Nouha Dicko and Matt Doherty’s first half efforts were enough to secure Wolves victory at Westendorf’s Waldstadion.

Viktoria Plzen did pull a goal back in the second half but Wolves had done enough.

Wolves: Ruddy (Norris 45`), Doherty (Batth 45`), Bennett (Simpson 61`), Miranda, Boly (Coady 61`), Douglas (Deslandes 61`); Edwards (Saiss 45`), Price (Neves 45`); Cavaleiro (Ronan 61`), Dicko (Enobakhare 45`), Mason (Zyro 45`).
