Wolverhampton Wanderers’ hopes of getting Champions League football next season have been dealt a major blow following consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Sheffield United. Willy Boly and Romain Saiss have drawn criticism for poor performances in defence, but they aren’t the only ones. Jonny Otto also struggled against United and was called out by supporters. He was beaten in the air to the ball on numerous occassions and was caught napping late in the game which eventually proved costly.
Apparently Adama shoulders gone in first few minutes
Even so jota was knackered Jonny fast asleep, Doherty slow disinterested. Yeah vinagre on, Podence on at least, even possibly Gibbs White
Nuno has had 3 mares this week.— Ant (@Ant94259086) July 8, 2020
Wolves finished the game as though Traore was still on the pitch. Try to forage up the right Dendocker is not Traore and can Jonny Otto not cross a ball? He gets into great positions then is unable to cross the ball, so all scoring attacks are through Traore. Time for a rethink

Jonny’s movement is none existent second half, so predictably moving everything down the right. #wwfc

Shocking performance again wolves. Jonny was by far the worst player on the pitch, was beaten every time and should of been taken off after 20 mins. Not created anything for 2 full games now! A bit worrying #wwfc

Poor from Nuno, anyone could see that substitutions were needed, Jonny looked shattered and podence could of give some pace off the bench #wwfc https://t.co/KiqRew6II1

Really poor Wolves. Started slowly (again) & didn't improve. Can't just turn it on and off like a tap. Jonny switched off once, got away with it. Second time, punished. Opportunity for CL won't ever be better than this: likely 5th, Arsenal/Spurs so bad. Looks gone now. #WWFC

Against the Blades, Jonny played for 90 minutes, had 52 touches, completed 85.7% of his 35 passes, whipped in two crosses, attempted three long balls with 66.66% accuracy, made two tackles, gave away one foul, made one clearance and had two dribbles.
The 26-year-old initially joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid in 2018 and turned the move permanent for £18.45m in January 2019. He’s gone on to make 82 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals with five assists. Jonny has been a regular under Nuno Espirito Santo this season, making 43 appearances across the board, but his form has left a lot to be desired in recent weeks.
Wolves are sixth in the Premier League table with 52 points from 34 games, six adrift of fifth-placed Manchester United. It’s hard to see them sealing a top-four finish now.
