Wolverhampton Wanderers’ hopes of getting Champions League football next season have been dealt a major blow following consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Sheffield United. Willy Boly and Romain Saiss have drawn criticism for poor performances in defence, but they aren’t the only ones. Jonny Otto also struggled against United and was called out by supporters. He was beaten in the air to the ball on numerous occassions and was caught napping late in the game which eventually proved costly.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Against the Blades, Jonny played for 90 minutes, had 52 touches, completed 85.7% of his 35 passes, whipped in two crosses, attempted three long balls with 66.66% accuracy, made two tackles, gave away one foul, made one clearance and had two dribbles.

The 26-year-old initially joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid in 2018 and turned the move permanent for £18.45m in January 2019. He’s gone on to make 82 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals with five assists. Jonny has been a regular under Nuno Espirito Santo this season, making 43 appearances across the board, but his form has left a lot to be desired in recent weeks.

Wolves are sixth in the Premier League table with 52 points from 34 games, six adrift of fifth-placed Manchester United. It’s hard to see them sealing a top-four finish now.

How tall is Jonny? Some fans dismay me. As far as I’m concerned he isn’t in the firing line!

Jonny is not left footed so why we expect him to get crosses in from that side beats me. Very predictable that he comes back right and usually ends up going backwards. We missed Neto the other night for that reason.
Our build up play is far too slow, this constant going back does my head in. Movement is nothing like it should be and the threat up front appears to have disappeared along with the goals. Nuno must have realised by now that the “small squad” experiment needs revising…while the idea is good it puts too much pressure on the players and we just don’t have the depth/quality on the bench to come on and change games. Keep playing like we are and we might not win another game…all four are tough. Changes needed. And Champions League ..?. Forget it….
