Southampton striker Emmanuel Mayuka has been urged to leave Southampton by his national team boss.

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett has worked his way down his long list of potential striking targets.

Having lost out on Callum Wilson, Chris Wood, Max Clayton, Andy Delort, Patrick Bamford and Danny Graham.

Jackett moved his attentions to the 23-year-old Zambia international Mayuka earlier this month.

Southampton signed the striker from Young Boys of Berne in August 2012 for a fee in the region of £3million.

He still has three years left on his contract, but is a long way down the pecking order at Southampton.

He has made just 13 appearances for Southampton, including one league start.

Last season he joined French side Sochaux on loan scoring 4 goals in 21 appearances.

But despite his lack of playing time at St Mary’s our loan move appeared to fail.

But with Zambia manager Honour Janza urging Mayuka to find first team football elsewhere, could that be the trigger to perhaps making the move happen?

‘If he can quickly move to where he can play that will be good,’ Janza said. ‘What is important for a player is to have game time. We are worried with our pros, most of them are not playing.’ he told the media.
