Following the Jamie O’Hara transfer from Spurs being completed yesterday, Wolves fans are now in wait for our next signing.

It seems pretty obvious to all of us that our thoughts should be focussing on the defence, with central defenders and left backs being an obvious target.

The press have speculated and would appear to have narrowed it down to a shortlist of two players for each position.

So if you believe everything you read, who is Mick McCarthy hoping to land?

For the central defence, Birmingham’s Roger Johnson appears to be our favoured option, but he has been valued at £7million +. Reading’s Matt Mills has been valued at £3million appears to be our back-up plan.

For the left back role we appear to be in competition with Swansea for Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand with Liverpool’s Paul Konchesky also linked.

‘I’m not giving anything away but there will probably be one or two more additions.’ Wolves chairman Steve Morgan told Sky Sports.

Discussing the matter in another interview with the Birmingham Mail he added: “I`m not going to elaborate where they are but there are a couple of key areas where we think we need to improve significantly,`

He also didn’t shy away from the possibility of spending big to sign the right player: “I`d much prefer not to break the transfer record for obvious reasons but at the end of the day we`ve got to do what we`ve got to do to get the right players into the club.’
