Mick put out a second string side to start with but we won with ease.

Hemmings put us ahead early on, heading in Greg Halford’s cross. It was Sam Vokes who grabbed the next goal, scoring from left back Scott Malone’s cross. Vokes then scored a second on the brink of half time. He beat the keeper to a soft back pass, rounded him and put it away.

We started with Ikeme in goal, a defence of Stearman, Batth, Elokobi and Malone, a midfield of Halford, Foley, Edwards and Hemmings and we started with Vokes and Ebanks-Blake up front. Wolves completely changed their side shortly after Wolves got their fourth, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scoring in style.

On came McCarey in goal. Dunleavy, Craddock, Berra and Van Damme were brought on in defence. Winnall, Henry, Jones and Jarvis made up the new look midfield with Doyle and Fletcher pairing up front.

Doyle could have had at least two. Jones’ shot rebounded to him but keeper Brain made a smart (get it?) save. He then had a shot deflected out and another shot which he drove wide.

A good performance by the boys, we dominated most of the game and our keepers were rarely called into action.

It’s nice to see us score a few goals, as we haven’t seen that for a while. It builds confidence and creates even more excitement among the fans.
