Mick McCarthy may have said that he doubts we’ll make further moves in the transfer market and we may have stated over and over that Kevin Doyle is for sale, but guess what?
The old rumour mill has been ticking around regardless, so here goes:
Kevin Doyle is apparently a transfer target for Italian giants Juventus. The link, because transfer rumours such as this have to have a link is Giovanni Trappatoni.
Trappatoni is a former manager of Juventus and is Doyle’s current International boss with the Republic of Ireland.
The second rumour is that we and QPR are currently trying to woo Thomas Hitzlsperger.
The German midfielder is currently a free agent after leaving West Ham following their relegation.
