Wolverhampton Wanderers are heading into a key period of the season according to Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett.

On Boxing Day Wolves travel to Watford, who are sixth in the Championship. If we can pick up three points away from home that would immediately cut the deficit to the teams in the play-off places.

48 hours later we are at Molineux to face third placed Brentford. Once again if we can secure the points we will soon see ourselves climb up the table and get ourselves back in contention for back-to-back promotions.

“If you are looking at where we are in relation to the top of the league, we are still well placed.

“We are only 11 points off the top of the league and we are competitive with the play-off positions.’ Jackett told the Express & Star.

He continued: “Christmas is a good programme for us, one we are looking forward to.

“If we can keep our players fit and make sure that the likes of Nouha Dicko coming back stay 100 per cent fit, then we can be as strong as possible for what is again a key period for us.”
