Wolves ‘could shove’ €50m-rated man, player was ‘about to sign’ for Barca but ‘rejected’ them

According to AS, Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘could shove’ Pedro Neto for €50m this summer and one team that may be keeping an eye on the 20-year-old are Barcelona. The Spanish giants were ‘about to sign’ Neto ‘two seasons ago’, but he ‘rejected’ a move and joined SS Lazio on loan instead.

Neto went on to spend two years in Italy and turned the move permanent in 2019 before signing for Wolves just months later. The Portuguese U21 international has gone on to make 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals with four assists.

He’s played a lot of games but hasn’t actually amassed a lot of minutes on the pitch – Nuno Espirito Santo has handed Neto 786 minutes of Premier League football, 402 in the Europa League, 161 minutes in the FA Cup and 160 in the EFL Cup.

The 20-year-old has averaged a goal or assist every 167.6 minutes, so it’s not surprising that he’s being linked with a move away from Wolves. Neto has four more years on his contract at Molineux, so the Midlands outfit aren’t under any obligation to cash in.

AS say Wolves may sell for €50m amid interest from clubs in England, Italy and Spain, but it remains to be seen if that happens.
