Wolverhampton Wanderers defender still ‘ruled out’ of action ahead of Bournemouth clash
Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Willy Boly is still ‘ruled out’ of action ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Bournemouth, according to Premier Injuries. The 28-year-old fractured his fibula in October and underwent surgery three weeks ago.
He’s expected to be out for another three weeks, so fans won’t see Boly until mid-December. The centre-back is likely miss Wolves’ meetings with Sheffield United (December 1), West Ham United (December 4), Brighton & Hove Albion (December 8), Besiktas (December 12) and Tottenham (December 15).
Boly has missed five games in all competitions through injury – Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle United (October 27), 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa (October 30), 1-1 draw with Arsenal (November 2), 1-0 win over Slovan Bratislava (November 7) and 2-1 win over Aston Villa (November 10).
In the Frenchman’s absence, Nuno Espirito Santo turned to Matt Doherty alongside Romain Saiss and Conor Coady against Newcastle last month before replacing him for Leander Dendoncker against Arsenal and Villa earlier in November.
Only five Premier League clubs boast a better defensive record than Wolves (15), so Nuno will be confident of coping without Boly.
