Wolverhampton Wanderers’ unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday evening, with Arsenal enjoying a 2-0 win over the Midlands outfit at Molineux, and Raul Jimenez was one of many players who underperformed over the 90 minutes. The 29-year-old didn’t have enough of the ball in dangerous areas, but he also fired blanks in front of goal, so he’ll want to forget all about Sunday as quickly as possible.

Against Arsenal, Jimenez played for 90 minutes, had 43 touches, won six aerial duels, completed 78.1% of his 32 passes, created two chances, had one shot which didn’t hit the target, whipped in one cross which didn’t find a teammate, made one clearance, gave away one foul, won one free-kick and had one dribble.

The Mexican international joined Wolves on loan from Benfica in 2018 and signed permanently for £34.2m in 2019. He’s gone on to make 92 appearances in all competitions, scoring 41 goals with 18 assists. Jimenez is coming off the back of a prolific season, boasting 24 goals and 10 assists in 48 games, but he had an off day against Arsenal.

Wolves face Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday, so he has a chance to put things right.
