Following his loan spell with Blackpool, Kevin Foley had his contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers cancelled by mutual consent ahead of a move to FC Copenhagen.

The 30-year-old who joined Wolves from Luton in August 2007 for £700,000 made 213 appearances for Wolves, with the last coming in September 2013.

Since then he has had two loan spells with Blackpool, making 9 appearances.

Last week he returned to Molineux following the end of his loan spell on the north west coast. Wolves had expected to hold talks with Blackpool, however a move from the Danish side has resulted in a permanent deal.

“Kevin Foley is a rock solid and experienced defender with experience in the Premier League, the Championship and the Irish national team.’ Former Wolves Head Coach Stale Solbakken told the Express & Star.

He continued: “He will increase competition at the back and take the pressure off Christoffer Remmer, who is on his way back from a long injury and Ludwig Augustinsson, who is brand new in the team.

“They will both have to spend a little time before they reach the top level.

“Now we are heavily covered with Kevin, who is 100 per cent reliable.”
