Sako set for QPR move

Bakary Sako will leave Wolverhampton Wanderers for Queens Park Rangers, it’s just a matter of when.

That is what French newspaper L`Équipe is reporting.

Sako is currently preparing to return back to England after Mali were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations.

Mali were knocked out in unusual fashion following the drawing of lots.

Mali and Guinea both finished level on three points in Group C and with identical records from their three group matches. So with goals scored, goals conceded and head-to-head records level, Mali pulled the short straw and were eliminated.

But whilst he might be flying back to England, L`Équipe believe that Wolves and QPR are already holding talks over a potential January transfer window move, with Sako already agreeing personal terms.

It is also thought that if the two sides cannot thrash out a deal over the next few days then Sako will simply leave Wolves at the end of the season and join on a free transfer………although if QPR were relegated and Wolves were promoted that would be rather ironic.

In truth though, it’s unlikely that even with promotion to the Premier League a real possibility Wolves will not choose to stand in his way.

So this now looks like we’ve seen the last of Sako, if reports are true of course!
